This is the perfect spot for a quick Sunday dinner. It offers comforting food that is less than a five-minute drive away. The standout dish is Momo, which are mini dumplings that are incredibly delicious, with lamb being our favorite filling. The other dishes are quite similar to Indian cuisine but tend to be a bit sweeter. The restaurant is small and somewhat hidden. They have enough servers to promptly attend to all the tables, and the food is served relatively quickly. Overall pleasant experience.

The service was so quick and the were so friendly and answered all our menu questions! They even gave us complimentary lentil soup (which we are STILL talking about, it was that delicious!). The inside was so nicely decorated as well! The food was delicious we ordered the lamb momo's and they were the most tender and succulent dumplings we've ever had! We also ordered the bhojangriha chicken, the spicy Basecamp chicken aaloo, the garlic & ginger Naan, yellow daal, and a platter combo. We couldn't pick a favorite! Everything was so delicious and seasoned perfectly - we'd definitely come back.

Service: attentive and kind servers. Very friendly staff present. Food: came here for restaurant week. Choice of appetizers and main. Beverage included, wine, beer or manhattan. Food is always flavorful. I love the wild boar momo. The chili cauliflower had great spices. The main course did come with basmati rice and your choice of naan (if you have a sorry of 2). I had a goat dish and my friend had a curry chicken. Meats were tender and sauces had great flavors. Ambiance: small restaurant but has a nice family vibe. They had some artwork from Nepal that was nice. I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed yet. Staff is very kind and helpful. Love seeing how full it got around 7pm for their dinner service.

After reading positive reviews, we decided to try a Nepalese restaurant for lunch. It was fantastic. The spacious, clean ambiance featured tasteful Nepalese artwork. The food was excellent, not too spicy, and resembled Indian cuisine. We started with complimentary lentil soup, which was good. The Chicken Sekuwa was flavorful and fresh, while the Momo with chicken and vegetables was tasty, especially with its unique sauces. The chicken kabob was perfectly cooked for the main course, and the Tandoori Salmon had an outstanding balance of flavors. We enjoyed garlic naan, which paired well with the dishes, and finished with delicious iced watermelon juice and mint tea. We had a wonderful experience and plan to return to try more authentic dishes.

Service was super slow to the point that I wanted to give this place an one-star while sat and waited with an empty stomach. Once the food arrived, I forgot we waited so darn long - the spices , the taste and the aroma...YUM! For your reference, we ordered 2 appetizers, 3 drinks, 5 entrees plus 1 kids meal, 2 desserts. The whole meal was 2 hours....we are quick eaters, btw.

Tucked away in a side street of Vienna! A cute homey feeling restaurant The workers were friendly and gave a few recs when we asked They gave us a free soup appetizer cup which was so nicely spiced and great way to warm up the belly before the meal :) Lamb curry - 3.5/5 super tender soft lamb and a bit of a darker thicker curry sauce. Very good Chicken curry - 3/5 I liked the curry sauce in this one better than the lamb. It was brighter and tasted great! Problem is the chicken was dry Garlic naan - 3/5 more on the doughy little chewy side. Good garlic flavor Chicken momo - 3.5/5 flavorful and very packed with meat filling! The wrapper is soft. A lot of spices packed into the meat and matches well with both sauces mixed together. The orange sauce alone is also great

Took an out of town friend here since he's never had Nepalese food and it was a huge hit! Everything tasted amazing! While we were debating what to order since everything on the menu sounded so good, our waiter brought us all complimentary lentil soups in cute tiny cups. It was wonderful and cozy on our cold evening dinner. We enjoyed several different types of momos for appetizer, and loved the sauces they came with. Especially the cilantro one. For entrees we ordered the salmon, goat curry, chickpea chaat. The salmon was so tenderly cooked and had great flavour, and tasted great with the cilantro sauce. The goat curry was the spiciest of all three dishes but tasty. The meat had a great texture and fell off the bone. Lastly the chickpeas were great with the garlic naan we ordered! We all left with happy full bellies!

A very neat restaurant along the strip of shops and eateries of Vienna! It seems spacious when you walk in but if you're not put into the booth section, the tables on the left side are sort of cramped. We were seated very close to others and it felt awkward :( Other than that, the service was great! No complaints there - pretty accommodating as well. The Complimentary Lentil Soup - absolutely delicious - very powerful in flavor but perfect with rice. The Chicken Momo - basically dumplings but their sauces were absolutely tasty and really gave it a unique taste. Nepali Pahuna Khana Set - this gave out 4 types of sides with rice and really was a good get for those who want to try a variety of tastes! (spinach was delicious, more lentil soup, beans, and a meat item (you can choose the type of protein - we got chicken). Nauni Chicken Masala (Butter Chicken) - definitely not worth; was pretty bland. Garlic & Ginger Nan - was also delightful! overall, 7.5/10 would come back to try the other items!

I was surprised that there wasn't a line out the door on a Sat evening. We had a delightful experience. Nepal cuisine isn't Indian food while there are some similar dishes. We had a delectable experience with every dish bursting with flavor! Nothing sad about Aalo Sadheko; the potatoes were cooked to perfection and seasoned with deliciousness. Laphing is a wonderful street food dish. Warm ambiance and the most friendly atmosphere. Dishes are made to share. Definitely coming back to trying everything else!!

I checked out Royal Nepal Bistro at 131 Maple Ave W in Vienna, VA, and had a pretty great experience overall. If you're in the area and craving some Nepalese cuisine, this is a spot worth trying. Vegetarian Friendly: Yup, they have some nice vegetarian options. It's great to see a good selection for those who don't eat meat. Decor: The decor is good, with a clean and cozy atmosphere. However, I wish it had more cultural stuff related to Nepal to give it a more authentic feel. A bit more traditional decor would make the experience even better. Food Breakdown: I tried Lamb Momo, Vegetarian Momo, plus complimentary Lentil Soup. Food Highlights: The Lamb Momo was the standout for sure. Super flavorful and just the right amount of spice. The filling was juicy and well-seasoned, making it the highlight of the meal. of course you can't forget the classic Momo sauce which was the cherry on top. Portion Size: The portions were good. Each plate had enough to be satisfying without being overly filling. Perfect for sharing a few dishes with friends or family. Service: The staff was so kind and probably the best servers I have head in a while. Price: I think the prices are fair for what you get. Since this is the only Nepalese restaurant I've been to, I don't have a great reference point for other pricing, but I felt it was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I Would I go Back: 100% I'd go back. I came for the momos and they definitely delivered. The flavors were on point, and the overall experience was enjoyable. I am looking forward to trying more dishes next time!
